Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
